(I searched but got 90,000 matches, so sorry if this was posted before.)

I was wondering if anyone had tried installing both VST 32 5.x and Cubase 4.x? Can they coexist peacefully? I wonder about current plugins I have (Waves 7) and older plugins (GRM Tools) and whether or not I can get all of them to work in both versions. I have Waves version 3 plugins as well but I'm not sure I'll be able to get Waves to authorize them now that I've upgraded.

Also, my computer lacks a parallel port. I can buy an expansion card, no problem. Has anyone been successful in getting VST 5.0 to work with an expansion card? I see the sticky at the top of this forum, so, ignore. Wink

Thanks for the help folks!

Yes, they can! Smile On my Windows 7 64 Bit system I have installed Cubase VST 5 next to virtually every version of its successors including Cubase SX, Cubase 4 and 5 (and the smaller derivates).
But I don't know if your Waves plugs will run with both versions. Waves plugs generally are very picky. I guess you'll have to eat the pudding...

Hey, great news. I have Win7 64bit but I haven't yet tried installing the various flavors of Cubase that I have. Thanks for the feedback (in this thread and the other).
