Hey there...
Up to now, my first synth-to-go was Omnisphere which is soundwise the top of the cream, but most of the sounds are a bit too wierd for normal songwriting.
So I bought HS to have a "workhorse-to-go" a primary synth that I use to sketch songs/tunes. But overall the sounds now seem to be the contrary extreme: a bit very basic, like the sound designers had programmed them for an arranger keyboard from 10 years ago, not a synth of 2010. There are 1200 sounds in it but for me, only about 30 of them might be usefull or are interesting, thats very very bad.
I think a new synth should be inspiring and bring you to "new lands". Yesterday I bought the alchemy player for 49€ with its basic sounds. I had fun with nearly every preset, inspiration everywhere, what a joy.
I hope, that in the NEAR future, some sound designers will invest some hours of work into HS, which will, to my humble opinion, otherwise go down very soon. But that would be pity because I can smell the potential thats in it! |
