| I previously posted an issue I am having with rewiring Reason to C5...The issue is that when I press play on cubase(or Reason) there is a hesitation or better, a lag before the sequence begins...I am not a novice when it comes to this, and when I had Nuendo 3, I had no issues(an that was a cracked Version)...But as I have spent a nice chuck of change for a software program...I could really use some help!!! I love what C5 is, and minus a few other issues, I am happy with my purchase...I just feel that I shouldn't have to export audio from Reason and import into C5 to complete my work...If anyone has some insight, I would greatly appreciate it...Thanks!!! |

What is the scenario? Does it change with the size of the Reason Rig or the Cubase project? Does the lag/delay cause glitches or sync problems in the song? Do you have any other rewire apps, like Ableton Live or the Halion Symphonic Orchestra demo that came with Cubase? Does the same thing happen with those?
I have Reason 3 but rarely use it anymore. However, I just tried it out, and I didn't notice any lag. I know its different from Reason 4, so I'm not dismissing what you are saying.

I use C5, Acid & Reason 4 rewired together, no issues, although I don't have a lot running in Reason normally. _________________ What we record in life, echoes in eternity.

Apparently there is a short "lag" at the very start of a project when CB is rewired to Reason and play is run. Its a generic rewire issue between any two rewired programmes. The delay is due to the two programmes locking into sync, and only starts at the very beginning of the project. It is recommended to allow say a two bar run-in of silence in Cubase before starting the project, and this will be enough to enable the two projects to lock properly. We are only talking milliseconds here but its enough to cause problems. This is what I've read. Hope that helps Adio. _________________ COMPUTER: W7 64bit | CPU QX9650 3.0GHz Quad | 8GB 800 RAM | Intel 780i SLI x3 Mobo | 8800GTX 768Mb | 2 x 500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache HDD | External USB2 1.5TB HD | M-Audio Audiophile 192 | MUSIC: Cubase 5.5.0 (32bit) | Groove Agent 2 | Komplete 6 | Reason 4.0.1 | Re-Cycle 2.1.2 | Adam ANF10s | M-Audio Axiom 61 keyboard controller | loads of plug-ins and sonic toys.

+1, allowing 2 meas does make a difference and this is exactly what I`ve been doing whenever I need to use Reason 4 with C5.I also suggest that `before` getting into Rewire, it`s always good to open Reason in `standalone` mode and assign all the necessary audio/midi interfaces by going into `preferences`, coz this is something that can never be done once you are into Rewire-setup with C5.

I have created a template for both programs...In, reason I have connected all the devices to the channels that I want them on...And as I said it is only at the begenning of the sequence...I could live with the lag if it didn't appear in the exported audio mix down...But as I wrote to Devon, C5 has been crashing on me all day ...But I am hoping that this is something I can fix with a re-install...Thank you all for the feedback...It is truly appreciated!!! |
