I recently purchased a Steinberg CI2. When I tried to install the software, I found that the Cubase AI 5 DVD was a dud. I am sure that it is a factory fault, as the only thing on the DVD is some kind of test video. The DVD has all the right markings, in other words it is the original, but the actual (Windows) label says TEST_DVD_5 and there is no software on it of any kind.
Is there any way to download the software and/or obtain a good copy?
BTW. The "Tools for CI2" CD is fine. |

Hello Frautenbach,
You would have to get back to your dealer and they should provide you with a new functional AI 5 DVD. _________________ Steinberg Tech Support

The CI2 was ordered over the Internet (USA to South Africa) and the time difference/distance makes it difficult to communicate with the dealer. Shipping a new DVD would take weeks (CI2 delivery was about 3 weeks). I did try to get support from the South African agent, but he refused to help since it was not purchased through him. In the mean time I am still awaiting response from the US dealer.
The CI2 is pretty useless without the software and I don't mind downloading the Cubase AI 5 software. Is there any way that Steinberg could make the software available for download? |

Thanks Chris,
I went to the link you provided, but I cannot seem to figure out who the regional Steinberg support department for South Africa would be.
I did try to get support from the South African agent, but his reply was simply: "As it was purchased from the USA you need to contact the dealer in the USA to assist you." |

Hi:
I recently bought a CI2 USB interface that comes with cubase AI5 bundled. It works like a Charm. I live in Chile, where we just had a great earthquake (one of the worst in world history) and I lost several items from my home studio including my laptop, mics and CDs. The USB interface its intact and I have a new laptop, but the Cubase AI5 cd is broken. There is any way to get it?
I tried asking for it at the yamaha guys in chile, but they doesnt know the product. Its very important to me, because I cannot afford a full version of the software right now and Cubase AI5 does the job for me now.
MAybe as you state in this post, you can send me a DVD copy. I can send you the "my steinberg" login, where my CI2 is registered
Thanks in advance.
