Good Day,

I am having the following problem:

cc121: Failed to install driver in win XP SP3

Downladed the latest files from Steinberg and Yamaha. NO sound card installed, other than my Lambda

Tried a multitude of methods. Followed cc121 manual instructions to the "T"

Spent about two hours on this now. Getting frustrated. Why is it so difficult to get this device installed???

HELP PLEASE

The installer creates a TEMP file on your system, and that's where it runs the .MSI file from.

Depending on HOW you acquired the file, it may be located in C:\Documents and Settings\ (Your)Username\Local Settings\Temporary

Internet files. Do a WINDOWS Search from the start menu: Start > Search (check All files and Folders, Select More Advanced Options:

Select: include Hidden files, check your "C" drive only) and the file name your looking for is: *.msi

Once it identifys all of the .msi files on your system, locate the correct one by verifying the most recent date,

meaning, whenever you made your last install attempt, that will likely be the msi file your looking for.

(MSI incidently stands for Microsoft Installer.) The potential problem is that you need to be certain that

you are selecting the correct installer, or you may initiate a reinstall of another application, in which case

you'll need to cancel out of it, and select another .msi file. until you notice it identifys itself as the Yamaha installer.

You should be aware that there are a number of other issues that may be hindering your install attempt

and it may be a better idea for you, to contact Yamaha Support. I have used them before and they resolved my issues.

Good Luck, I spent 3 days easily, messing around with this issue, call Yamaha and you may resolve it in less than an hour.
