Time to place a link to the topic on the C4 forum

http://forum.cubase.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=56809

Copy of first post here.

Hi all,

A friend of mine (forum member podel) and myself spent a lot of time converting fxp/fxb factory collections for UAD-1 and FM7 to the new vstpreset standard.
So we thought it might save everyone a lot of work when we'd share them.
You'll find them here to be downloaded.

Lanter Audio & Automation

RiVeTeD Studios

Should anyone already have conversions for other plug-ins factory presets they would like to share, I'd be happy to host them.
Send me a PM with your email address so we may exchange the files.

Cheers,
Per and Jan

If it's a set I uploaded, it's probably my fault they don't work at the moment.
I editied the description of the files on the Riveted site, and I think Lanters is a mirror of that.
So if the files are not live on the Riveted site, they won't work on Lanters either.

I've emailed the Riveted peeps, hopefully the files will be back up soon.

Hi,
Some files are exclusively available at Riveted's, so I'm only linking to there...

I see the path for WIN XP C: \Documents & Settings\$username\Application Data\VST3 Presets\ but what would be the correct path for Vista? Would it be C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\VST Sound\?
Or C:\ProgramData\VST3 Presets

I'm having numerous issues using .vstpresets that are created using an Automapped device.
The new Novation Automap release breaks backwards compatability with .vstprests created with the older version of Automap.
So for now, I can't access most of the presets that I've posted Sad

All those hours do feel well and truly wasted now.

Same problem here, I had to convert them manually. Maybe the preset format changed (are the downloaded preset made with Discovery 2.x? I ask because I have Discovery 3.2, maybe something changed and the old vstpresets doesn't work anymore)? However I converted them and they seem to work correctly (not like the synth1's ones which I posted some years ago just to discover I worked for nothing Rolling Eyes ).

My conversions are on this page; I did them with Discovery 3.2 Mac on CS4.5.2 .

edit: the presets were uploaded to sendspace but they aren't there anymore, so I put them on my own page and updated the link.

Hi,

'This' is a sharing project for vstpreset collections that has started with the introduction of vstpresets in Cubase 4.
As it is sometimes a lot of work to convert a plugin's preset format to vstpresets (which makes them accessible through mediabay), we thought it would make sense to share. Anyone can make conversions for the plugins they own and make them available for others. In return all can download collections that have already been converted by others.
In order to keep an overview of what is available there are two sites where you can download collections, as mentioned in the first post.
This thread is meant to keep info on what is available and new additions. If you have anything to contribute please post it here.

Cheers,

No, it's rather about factory presets of 3rd party plugins like eg UAD or FM7 that use either old fxp/fxb presets or their own preset format.
In order to recall their presets using mediabay or soundframe, those need to be converted to vstpreset format.
(of course you can save your own presets as vstpresets, you could even save eg a Kontakt4 instrument setup (multi) as a vstpreset, but that is not what this sharing is about)
I'm sure you can read the manual on vstpresets for a more elaborate explanation...

I have converted nearly every preset I can find for Synth1 to the latest "VST Preset" format. If there were duplicate names across banks they won't have been converted though.. but there are still 6515 sounds in there!

Apologies to the original authors, since there is no way of attributing/categorizing the individual presets, but I shall try and name you all in this thread eventually

Download Synth1 presets in VST3 Preset format

Hotfile Mirror

copy to

C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\VST3 Presets\Daichi\Synth1 VST

(for XP)
