Quick/Necessary fix needed for the PDF manual, even before creating and inserting illustrations, would be text-search! Maybe it's a mac thing, but I'm unable to search for words in the text of this PDF in OSX Preview, or even Acrobat Pro. I guess I could OCR the whole doc in Acrobat, but really isn't that Steinberg's job? Wink

I realize 7's only been out for a couple weeks, but this is a really urgent need for the existing documentation, given it's state. I also realize it's searchable in Help viewer. But you should realize that with a key-protected app, users might like to read/study outside the studio or while someone else is working in the licensed seat. A fully featured PDF addresses this need.

thanks!

I agree completely. A printed manual is not really what I want , more a real manual in Pdf form but which actually shows in a logical manner how to use the functions and screens of the program. Something like the manual for wavelab 6 or Cubase. I can print what I need but at least I could make better sense of the new program.

@daved

Thanks for your long post.

>>For instance DDP opening is a task I do every day.
>> I'd prefer a File menu option, related to the normal "Open" command

You could create a keyboard shortcut.

That's weird - here on PC text is easily searchable and selectable.

One problem I have with the WL6 to 7 Differences pdf is that after printing everything except the body text is printed because such an exotic font is used. No reaction to that from Steinberg so far.

I've been married for over 10 years. And, it's taken me this long to understand what she's on about most of the time! Now, if I'd had a 'wife manual' at the beginning, I reckon I could have worked out long ago how to get the best out of her !!!

Hope it doesn't take me that long to work out WL7 !!!

Steinberg is looking for a technical writer:

Has this something to do with a Wavelab7 manual?
